The Andeluna winery is located in Mendoza, Argentina, more precisely in the Valle de Uco at around 1300m altitude, which gave the name to the 1300 series of the winery. Andeluna is a neologism from the Andes and the moon (Luna) for the estate founded in 2005. In order to obtain the best grape material, the grapes are harvested here by hand.
The Malbec 1300 pleases with its charming, fruity character, a delicate wood note due to the 3-month aging in barriques and its harmony. It has an intense ruby red to violet color. There are ripe blackberries in the scent, which is very typical for a Malbec, along with some violets, plums and a delicate note of vanilla. It is very well balanced on the palate, has no rough edges, shows a lot of charm and intense fruit in the long finish.
The 1300 Malbec has been very well discussed in the press, James Suckling awarded 91/100 to the 2018 vintage and 92/100 to the 2019 vintage. Tim Atkin, the 2018 and 2017 vintages are each worth 90/100 points. In any case, you can get a lot of wine for a moderate price here.
