The Vignes de Nicole Reserve line is produced at Château Paul Mas in Nicole, west of the town of Montagnac in Languedoc. On clay and limestone soils, the grapes ripen perfectly in the warm Mediterranean climate to produce the soft, fruity, dry style of wine that has made Paul Mas wines huge success.
For Michel Mas and his oenologist Richard Osborne, the way to high quality is above all via the low yield of the vines. The Vignes de Nicole Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot is also based on this philosophy, a beautifully balanced dry red wine of the soft kind that has matured in small oak barrels for seven months. Darker ruby red with violet tints, the scent shows aromas of plums and currants, as well as herbal notes, vanilla and a delicate chocolate tone. Full-bodied, soft, round tannins and a long finish in which the fruitiness and chocolate can be felt again. An all around more than satisfying wine with the typical attributes of the Languedoc, prepared by master craftsmen.
