The Touraine Sauvignon Blanc "La Dilecta" (=love) is the top wine from Willy Allion. His winery is located on the Loire, about 50 kilometers east of the city of Tours. The wine got its name from Honoré de Balzac, who gave his first love Madame de Berny this name.
This noble and nuanced Sauvignon Blanc is prepared with a lot of love. The grapes for this white wine come from two plots on the banks of the Cher River, planted with very old vines that give the wine power and depth. The grapes are also harvested very ripe, which brings additional fullness.
Le Dilecta is a full-bodied and full-bodied white wine, its intensity and power are impressive. Despite these characteristics, the wine is also endowed with a certain freshness that makes this Sauvignon Blanc drinkable and lively. It has a green-yellow color with a slight golden tinge. The nose presents the magnificent play of aromas of this grape variety, reminiscent of candied citrus fruits, spices and tropical fruits such as ripe mango, but the whole is also provided with subtle mineral notes. It is voluminous and juicy on the palate, very rich in extracts and long in the finale.
This Touraine Sauvignon is not a light soft drink. It requires intense food partners, such as fish with white wine sauce or grilled, white meat, dishes with mushroom sauce, fried liver or aged Loire goat's cheese.
