As the name "Flying high" makes it unmistakably clear, this is an ambitiously produced premium Chardonnay, which was fermented and matured in oak barrels according to the international model. It comes from particularly good batches of the Hensel winery with high maturity and very healthy grapes, which are particularly suitable for aging in wooden barrels due to their high extract.
The Höhenflug Chardonnay 2020 from Hensel has a light golden yellow color with a greenish tinge. The toasty barrique aromas are clearly perceptible in the bouquet, along with notes such as vanilla, ripe honeydew melon, quince and some pineapple. On the palate, the aging in barriques gives the fruit a nice corset, the wine is balanced, voluminous and ends with a pleasant, creamy mouthfeel. In this price range, it is a real qualitative benchmark that you can only take your hat off to. The wine tastes great when young, but can certainly stand a few years in the bottle.
We particularly recommend it with poultry, mushroom dishes, white meat and crustaceans.
