With 19 hectares of vineyards, the Herrenberg is the largest of the three top locations of the Maximin Grünhaus winery. It connects to the Abtsberg and is very similar to its neighbor there. It gets flatter and cooler in the rear part of the Herrenberg, which is why the wines here are usually a bit more white-fruited than those from the Abtsberg. In warm years like 2023, the coolness of the Herrenberg is even an advantage. The Rieslings from Herrenberg are extremely elegant and have a great structure and grandiose delicacy.
The fruit-sweet Riesling Kabinett Große Lage by Maximin Grünhaus of the year 2023 is brilliantly clear and aromatically finesse. The wine has a sensationally stimulating play of sweetness and sourness and will be great drinking pleasure for many years.
