The Blanc de Blancs Vintage comes from Graham Beck in Robertson's own vineyards, which produce particularly good grapes due to their calcareous soil and are carefully harvested by hand. The harvest is pressed as whole bunches and, after fermentation, half matured in 205 liter champagne barrels. The proportion of new barrels is low at seven percent, the focus should be on the fruit, the wood only serves as a small aromatic supplement.
The Blanc de Blancs Brut Vintage remains on the yeast for at least 48 months for further processing into sparkling wine. Aromatically, this high-quality sparkling wine is reminiscent of brioche, limes, pears and green apples. On the palate it convinces with a fine mousseux, the best balance and an impressive variety and length.
A sparkling experience for many occasions, serve this Graham Beck with smoked fish, pies or light desserts such as fruit cake, for example. Of course, it is also ideal as an aperitif or for any kind of celebration.
Decanter magazine gives the vintage 2015 93/100 and 2017 91/100 and praises "... biscuity richness that feels very hedonistic".
