Gewürztraminer is one of the most typical varieties of Alsace. This type of fragrance has a character all of its own. Anyone who has ever smelled the expansive scent of roses will probably never forget it. In order to obtain the juiciest possible taste, the Gewürztraminer in Alsace is often left with a certain amount of residual sweetness, which also gives it the necessary fullness to tame the very spicy cheese with its ideal partner at the table, the local Munster cheese.
The Wolfberger Gewürztraminer Signature is golden yellow in colour. Its emphatically aromatic scent of roses and exotic fruits such as mango and papaya seems to have been rounded off with a delicate pinch of cinnamon. On the palate it is lush and just as intense as the nose suggests, the long-lasting finale is accompanied by a delicate residual sweetness. This is certainly not a thirst quencher, but a wine for fans, which is enjoyed in small sips. In addition to the Munster mentioned above, we also recommend it with fruit cakes that are not overly sweet, with spicy dishes with an Asian touch, which balances the sweetness with the spiciness, or simply on its own as an aperitif.
