The Gewürztraminer Selection de Grains Nobles 2001 from Hugel comes from the oldest vines of the Grand Cru vineyard Sporen.
The color of this noble sweet Gewürztraminer is golden yellow with orange reflections. You can already see its almost oily viscosity when swirling the glass. In the very intense scent one recognizes notes of dried fruits such as dates, raisins and figs, as well as exotic fruit notes such as ripe mango and papaya, as well as caramel and some saffron. The floral notes of the Traminer are more in the background. On the palate there is a brilliant density, supported by a touch of acid and a great structure. Despite its density, the wine is not paralyzing. Enjoy this great dessert wine now or in 30 years.
