The Pinot Nero (= Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir or Pinot Noir) is Franz Haas's declared favorite variety. The Pinot Nero is the greatest challenge to the winemaker and rewards the experts of this guild with unique wines that are the measure of finesse and play. The vines for this wine are located at high and therefore cool locations in the communities of Pinzon, Glen, Mazon and Montan. Franz Haas only uses low-yield clones, only quality counts.

After fermentation in open tanks, the wine is placed in barriques for a year to mature. The result is a Pinot Nero with its very own South Tyrolean style, aromas such as sour cherries and plum compote, cinnamon and a hint of marzipan indicate a slightly fruity variant of this vine, it is fresh and lively on the palate, and the high altitude brings a certain "coolness" in the tannins, nevertheless it is voluminous and charming. Tastes great young and mature.
