The "Easy to drink" Barbera Firina by Cascina Garitina is beautiful in terms of design and taste. Its colorful and cheerful presentation already indicates what to expect in terms of taste. This Barbera has none of the often noticeable acidity of this grape variety due to its high grape ripeness. The scent shows ripe dark berries, a delicate floral note (violets?), laurel, cocoa and cherries. This Barbera d'Asti is soft, fruity and has a very good length in the charming finish. A jack of all trades at the table, goes well with any pizza party, summer BBQ or pasta or meat dishes of all kinds, it also makes a "bella figura" with antipasti. A lot of Piedmont for little money.

The grapes for Firina grow in Castel Boglione, located between Nice Monferrato and Acqui Terme in the province of Asti in Piedmont.

The Cascina Garitina estate was founded in 1900 and is still family-owned today. Particular attention is paid to the Barbera grape variety. All grapes come from our own cultivation, nothing is bought in. The winemaking is very natural, the environment is taken into account and fermentation is carried out without added fermentation yeasts, so that the wines get the most authentic expression possible. The name Garitina comes from the current owner's great-grandmother, whose nickname it was.
