The steep terraces of the Mayschosser Mönchberg are surrounding the Winery Deutzerhof like a natural amphitheatre. At the heart of this excellent vineyard are ungrafted Spatburgunder/Pinot Noir, which produces small-berry grapes of exceptionally high quality. The loess clay soil on slate gives the Mönchberg Pinot Noir a rather softer and fruitier character.
Consequently, the Deutzerhof turns these grandiose conditions into an excellent LARGE GROWTH, which is always at the forefront in terms of quality on the Ahr. This GG is aged in Burgundian barrels to 228L, the so-called Pièces. Flavors such as cassis, blackberries, cocoa and spices are typical of the Mönchberg Pinot Noir.
