The Balthasar C. Pinot Noir from the Deutzerhof combines the finesse and coolness of the upper Ahr Valley with the power and substance of the Pinot Noirs from the lower part of the growing area. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then matured in used barriques for eight months.
Delicate roasted notes and a subtle scent of raspberries are excellently combined in this typical Ahr Pinot Noir. The wine has very good substance on the palate, the excellent red wine vintage 2019 gives a wonderful fullness and the best balance. Optimally implemented by the competent team of the Deutzerhof.
The Balthasar C. from the powerful and intense 2019 vintage has now reached its first drinking maturity, which it will keep at this level for a few more years. Here authentic Ahr Pinot Noir is combined with a touch of Burgundy through the barrique aging. Nevertheless, this wine always remains a subtle and independent original that can only grow in this way on the Ahr. That's how we like it!
