This Deutzerhof Pinot Noir from vineyards in Ahrweiler that are at least 30 years old is named "Caspar", after the founder of the winery Caspar Cossmann, who founded it in 1574.< /p>

The grapes of the Ahrweiler Caspar Spätburgunder Alte Reben grow primarily in the very good Daubhaus vineyard. After fermentation, the wines mature separately by layer in used barriques. The decision as to which barrel is good enough for the Caspar is only made in June after the harvest, when the final compilation is made.

Aromas such as dark berries, violets and chocolate are typical for Pinot Noir Caspar. On the palate it finds the balance between fruit and freshness, the tannins are pleasantly delicate, it is balanced and has a considerable length in the finish. A substantial Pinot Noir from a first-class red wine year.

Falstaff Magazine gives this wine 92/100, notes sweet cherry and herbs in the scent and the juicy body and finds this wine fine-grained, silky and lively.
