A small part of the Crozes-Hermitage Les Launes is matured in wooden barrels to give the wine a subtle spiciness, but otherwise to leave the fruity aromas of the Syrah grapes, harvested when they are perfectly ripe, in the foreground .
This subtle Syrah wine has aromas of dark berries, cassis and some plums, with a slight floral note in the background. On the palate it is well weighted and balanced. It can be enjoyed early, but its ripe tannins should also guarantee it ten years of positive bottle aging.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate reads about the Crozes-Hermitage Les Launes: "Always a cuvée that offers good value". 2021 is not yet rated (as of Feb. 2023).
This fine red wine goes very well with game dishes, dark meat with sauce, grilled meat or pasta dishes with mushrooms.
