The Crozes-Hermitage "Le Clos" comes from a small plot on the left bank of the Rhône river that can deliver outstanding quality. The wine is only bottled separately in very good vintages, usually there are only around 7000 bottles per year, when it is available.
The wine is so concentrated that it is aged 100% in barriques, not new, but 1-3 year old oak. So the Delas house style with rather few aromas of wood remains, even in such a dense wines. The Le Clos combines the structure of the northern Rhône with supple fullness, it is close to the maximum of what is conceivable in terms of quality in the AOP Crozes-Hermitage.
