The Domaine des Grands Chemins has belonged to Delas Frères since 2006. The vines stand on so-called benches, which were created at the confluence of the Rhône and the Isère river. Because of their special terroir, the grapes from this estate were vinified and bottled separately from the start. The ageing takes place partly in tanks and in small wooden barrels, which are used for the second or third time, so here too the influence of oak in the final wine is quite subtle. The fruit notes such as dark berries, cherries and cassis dominate, supplemented with delicate smoky notes, as well as the liquorice note, which is said to be typical of wines from the banks. It is strong on the palate, the noticeable tannins give the structure and substance for a long storage, which should be allowed to this wine, so that it shows its full potential.
