Maison et Domaine les Alexandrins was founded by Nicolas Jaboulet, scion of the famous wine family of the same name, Guillaume Sorrel, son of winemaker Marc Sorrel in Hermitage and Alexandro Caso, specialist in terroirs in the northern Rhône. They started with the processing of purchased grapes (Maison les Alexandrins), but the focus has always been on acquiring their own vineyards. These are labeled as Domaine les Alexandrins. The Domaine wines are currently in the multi-year conversion phase to organic cultivation. The logistics are in the hands of the Perrin family.

The red Crozes-Hermitage from their own vineyards has been available at Domaine les Alexandrins since 2014. Since the 2019 vintage, it has also had the name "les Chaflans" on the label. It comes from a four-hectare vineyard with ancient Syrah vines that stand on siliceous sandy-clay soil. It is aged for 12 months in two-year-old barrels, which give the wine some aroma but never dominate it.

The 2020 vintage can undoubtedly be described as great on the northern Rhône. Intense and concentrated wines were created that are rarely found. Nevertheless, the cool Nordrhône Syrah aroma, freshness, precision and clarity are not neglected in this great wine. It has a nice depth and really good pull on the palate, which results from the vines, some of which are over 100 years old.
