The Francois Xavier Lambert winery was founded in the 1950s to produce wine and olive oil. Today, Jean-François Gras, the great-grandson of the founder, runs the winery. His Côtes-du-Rhône is the entry-level wine, soft and spicy, lots of charm and smooth fullness, with little tannin. It consists mainly of the grape variety Grenache, which is joined by 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. It is matured in the concrete tanks that are common on the southern Rhône. A nice red at a fair price.
