The Chianti Classico Badia a Passignano ranks in the highest quality level of the cultivation area, as Gran Selezione. The wine critics are quite unanimous, this wine belongs to the absolute quality elite of the Chianti Classico. Many ratings are based around the 94-95/100 points, almost regardless of the vintage, which underlines the consistently high-quality winemaking at Antinori.
The 2019 vintage is considered the best in Tuscany since 2016. The wines have power, depth and will last a long time at the top. Michaela Morris from the magazine DECANTER awards 95/100 to the 2019 Badia a Passignano and writes: "...Everything is in place - almost too perfectly." The Wine Spectator has reached the same score and Robert Parker's Wine Advocate gives this Chianti Gran Selezione a 94/100."
