Château Beaumont makes one of the most elegant and delicate Haut-Mèdocs. This is not surprising, since the winery is located between St.-Julien and Margaux, the latter in particular being well-known for its fine wines. Today Beaumont belongs to Grands Millésimes de France, which also owns the Grand Cru Classé Chateau Beychevelle. The noblesse of the wine is also reflected in the castle, which is well worth seeing and was built in 1854 in the Renaissance mansard style.

The large vineyard area of 113 hectares consists of one continuous piece and is planted with 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. After fermentation, the harvest is aged in barriques, about a third of which are new. The Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine power, spiciness and structure, the Merlot velvety fullness, the Petit Verdot dark fruit and bite. For years, Château Beaumont has practiced sustainable viticulture in accordance with the guidelines of the Terra Vitis association.

The 2019 vintage is almost identical in the composition of the vines to that planted in the vineyard, it only has 2% Petit Verdot for 45% Merlot. Due to heavy rainfall in winter, the vines survived the exceptionally hot summer of 2019 without major damage. The harvest took place under ideal conditions. This resulted in a well-balanced wine with substance and depth, which has the typical round Beaumont charm. A very delicate Haut-Médoc that can be drunk young due to its softness, but of course could also age easily for 15 years if you let it, because the delicacy that is present at the moment is difficult to resist.
