Julien Brocard describes his 1er Cru Côte de Léchet as the purest Chablis character. This has a slope of 38° to the south-east, as is usual for the best terroirs in Burgundy. The very barren and stony soil and a low yield emphasizes the typical mineral character of this elegant Chablis wine. The location is on the left side of the Serein where the cooler and more floral Chablis grow. Nevertheless, the wines from this Julien Brocard site are balanced, even a little flattering and have a long aging potential due to their structure and power. The very old vines (on average approx. 60-65 years old) give this wine its grandiose substance, even if they further reduce the already low yield of this barren location.

Julien Brocard uses 10% barriques for this wine, the rest ferments and is stored in steel tanks. The aromas are reminiscent of white fruits and pome fruit, there is also a little acacia blossom and orange peel. On the palate, the wine is subtle and at the same time very deep, great elegance combines here with complexity and inner peace. The wine is produced biodynamically according to the strict Demeter specifications.
