In the dry climate of Chile, the Carmenere variety yields much more reliable results than in its humid and cool home in Bordeaux, where it is hardly cultivated today. As a result, Chile has now developed with more than 7,000 hectares of Carmenere into the main cultivation area of this variety.
The soft year 2016 has gained by adding of 15% Petit Verdot, a very successful addition. The Caliterra Carmenere Reserva is nevertheless a soft dry red wine with supple tannins and chocolatey notes, dark berries, cinnamon and vanilla are also found in its aroma. An easy going red wine, nearly everybody will enjoy.
