The Bruderberg is the smallest and coolest of the three large sites of the Maximin Grünhaus winery in Merstesdorf. It is just one hectare in size, which is why you rarely see the wines. The hillside is steep and the soil consists of Devonian slate, as in the neighboring Abtsberg.
This classic sweet Riesling Kabinett from the Bruderberg site is characterized by its brilliance and the cool play of fruit, the aromas are reminiscent of lime, mint and green apple. On the palate, the interplay of sweetness and acidity and the brilliant clarity of this wine delighted. The wine is intense and at the same time incredibly fresh and elegant. The Riesling Bruderberg Kabinett is already a lot of fun, but will also easily mature 25+ years in the bottle if you can hold back that long, which should be difficult for anyone who has tasted this wine.
The renaissance of fruity sweet Kabinett wines is in full swing, especially from top wineries like Maximin Grünhaus. We were only allocated very small quantities, this wine is no longer available from the winery.
