Werher Windisch - Rheinhessen
The Werther Windisch winery is one of the top newcomers in Rheinhessen. After studying in Geisenheim and doing internships in various estates, Jens Windisch took over his parents' winery in 2010. The 12 hectares of vineyards around Mommenheim, west of Nierstein, are mainly planted with white varieties, in addition to Riesling, Silvaner also plays a major role here , for whose quality Jens Windisch is also highly valued nationwide. Most of the wines are fermented spontaneously, herbicides are not used to preserve the biodiversity of nature.
The Werther Windisch wines are aromatic, crystal clear, uncompromisingly dry and yet harmonious. Due to the ripe acidity, there is no need to conceal residual sweetness to give the wines the right balance. That is careful winemaking with the right instinct, the wines are also very stable and mature slowly. We are sure that we will hear and read a lot about this property in the future.
