Tramin, Cantina - Südtirol
Winegrower cooperatives have traditionally played an important role in the marketing of wines in South Tyrol. The Cantina Tramin was founded in 1898 by the then pastor of Tramin. Today, 290 winemakers deliver their grapes here, not only the Gewürztraminer grape variety, but also the most common South Tyrolean varieties such as the red Lagrein, the Blauburgunder, Merlot and Cabernet, as well as the white Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc.
There are two wine lines, the classic series has the grape variety on the label, the selection additionally a village- or vineyard or blend designation. The wines of the Cantina Tramin are highlyawrded, already 23 times one of them received 3 glasses , the highest award in the Gambero Rosso and also Robert Parker already awarded 96/100 points for a Traminer of this winery.
