Montedelma - Franciacorta
Monte Delma, named after a hill in the Po Valley, is the sparkling winery of the Berardi family, who have been producing fine sparkling wines since 1920. Franciacorta is the Italian counterpart to Champagne, the area with the best sparkling wines in the country. The same grapes are mainly used as in France, Charonnay and the white and red Pinot varieties dominate. The rows of vines are greened so that biodiversity is preserved and soil erosion is prevented. A modern winery with underground production facilities with constant temperature was built in the 1980s, with which the estate finally established itself at the top of Franciacorta producers.
