Bon Courage, Südafrika
Bon Courage Estate is located in Robertson Valley, South Africa, which is well-suited for viticulture due to its calcareous soils. Willie Bruwer (Bruére) bought the estate in 1927 and planted Steen (Chenin Blanc) and Muscadel vines, which he marketed as bulk wine. The winery's modern history began in 1983, when Willie's son André renamed the estate to Bon Courage and established it as a self-marketing winery. Since 1990, Jacques Bruére has been involved in winemaking, introducing yield limits and modern technology to further enhance the quality of the wines. Due to the different soils and climatic conditions, almost all common grape varieties of South Africa flourish here. Numerous awards and very good reviews by South Africa's wine journalist Tim Atkin testify to this impressively.
