For its Rioja Reserva , the Bodegas Lan uses 92% Tempranillo and 8% Graciano grapes, which are from 20-25-year-old vines. This Rioja is aged for 16 months in the LAN-typical hybrid barriques, which consist of American staves and French bottoms. After another 24 months of bottle ripening, it is sold, when it's ready to drink.
The 2010 Lan Reserva is thrilled with the first encounter. Bright ruby red color with dark core. The fragrance shows red and black berries, some cherry and a noble vanilla, accompanied by delicate herbal wort. The body is of medium weight, taut and with good concentration , the final is very long lasting. It has real class!
