The Rioja Gran Reserva of the Bodegas Lan is 90% of 30-year-old Tempranillo vines from the Rioja Alta and 10% from Mazuelo vines from the vineyard Viña Lanciano. The concentration and complexity of this wine stems from the low yields of the vines grown in traditional bush form. Due to the long time of 24 months in barriques and at least 36 months in the bottle, it is ready to drink, when it is released.
2011 is a very good vintages for Rioja. The bouquet of the reminds of red fruits, cinnamon, fennel, cigar box, leather and some licorice. On the palate it is full without being heavy, playful in the flavors. Highly elegant, a stylistic mix of classic and modern. That fits!
