The Beaujolais Villages Piémonts of Domaine Paul Janin grows in the village of Lancié, east of the AOP Morgon, south of Romanèche-Thorins. This wine benefits from the old vines that provide the grapes, the Gamay vines here are mostly between 30 and 60 years old. In 2019, these old vines only yielded a meager twenty hectoliters per hectare, but gave the wine an immense power and depth that is rarely found in a Beaujolais Villages. Only 80% of the Piémont is destemmed, 20% of the harvest is mashed with the stems to give the wine an additional tannin structure.

The excellent vintage 2019 is of a powerful nature, the wines have plenty of extract and a full-bodied nature. They will live a long time, but are also a lot of pleasure when young. The 2019 Beaujolais Village by Paul Janin has an enchanting aroma of cherries, fresh herbs and pepper, a drinkable wine with sophistication, the draw in its long aftertaste is remarkable.
