The big temperature differences between day and night at the Leithaberg give the Blaufränkisch a particularly filigree and fresh note. Markus Altenburger ages his Blaufränkisch for 20 months in a large oak barrels. This slow way of ripening gives the wine its final complexity. We particularly like this wine with its spicy herbs. In the excellent red wine vintage 2016, Altenburger produced a fine and concentrated Leithaberg with a beautiful aromas, reminiscent of herbs, orange peel and Amarena cherry.
