The Greenhouse Riesling dry, called Riesling Alte Reben up to and including the 2019 vintage, otherwise nothing has changed. It is and will remain one, if not the benchmark for dry Riesling in this price range on the Ruwer. It is the local wine of the Schubert family with their Maximin Grünhaus winery. The Riesling grapes for this filigree and deep wine come from the top locations Herrenberg and Abtsberg. There is so much pressure and complexity here that others don't achieve this quality with their big growths. Seen in this way, this wine is a real price-pleasure hit that promises years to decades of enjoyment.

The 2021 vintage is stylistically reminiscent of earlier decades, when the temperatures were significantly lower and the wines therefore appeared much cooler aromatically. The winemakers were struggling in 2021 and had to rigorously select in the vineyards to obtain first-class wines. A matter of course in wineries like Maximin Grünhaus. Therefore, the quantity was small, but the wine quality was excellent, just in a slightly different style than was known from the warmer vintages before.

The Grünhäuser Riesling 2021 combines a delicate and cool mineral character with complexity, extract and depth. This powerful and aromatically enchanting Ruwer Riesling achieves all this with only 11.5% alcohol. A very distinctive style at a very high level.
