The Chateau Miraval from Provence is one of the most famous rosé wines for a reason. The Pitt/Jolie celebrity bonus was certainly helpful in terms of publicity and marketing, but it is also the outstanding quality through the excellent winemaking of the Perrin family, which is behind it as the wine's producer . Wine Spectator magazine even awarded this rosé the best in the world.
Miraval rosé wine grows in the Provence, about halfway between Frejus and Aix-en-Provence. This wine gets its clarity and freshness from relatively high-lying vineyards at an altitude of around 350m. The somewhat cooler locations ensure the freshness and elegance in this enchanting wine. In addition, Perrin simply knows when to harvest the grapes and how to handle it, so that the balance is always perfect.
The Miraval Rosé has notes of strawberries and cherries in the bouquet, as well as a very delicate floral note. On the palate it is lively and with good extract, but without any heaviness. It literally floats over the palate. By the way, you don't necessarily have to drink this exquisite rosé wine young, it also ages wonderfully in the bottle for 2-3 years!
