Vigneti del Vulture from the Basilicata region, located between Apulia and Campania, belongs to the Farnese/Fantini company. Modern wines with a crystal-clear style and great freshness are produced here from old vines of the local grape varieties Aglianico, Greco and Fiano, mostly in very high locations around 800m above sea level, which shine with an excellent price-pleasure ratio.
The Aglianico del Vulture grapes grow in selected vineyards in Basilicata. They are harvested exclusively by hand and only the best grapes are used for this wine. This Aglianico has an intense aroma with notes of black cherry, herbs and a hint of vanilla, due to the aging in used barriques. The powerful body is supported by fine tannins, the wine finishes long-lasting and very harmonious. A modern interpretation of a traditional grape variety.
The Falstaff magazine awards a fantastic 90/100 points, which underlines the excellent Paris-pleasure ratio of the red Pipoli. Unfortunately no newer vintages were tested (as of February 2023).
