For more than 15 years the Domaine du Colombier by Jean-Yves Bretaudeau has been recommended every year in the French wine guide "Hachette". This is evidence of quality and constancy. The vineyard has been family-owned for four generations and now farms 33 hectares of vines. For more than 30 years, they are a member of the Vignerons Independants association, where traditional winemaking methods are shared and the wines are marketed together, at trade fairs, for example.
The Muscadet de Sevre et Maine sur Lie is the most important wine of the Domaine du Colombier. Depending on the vintage charakter, it lies between 5 and 14 months on the yeasts, which gives it complexity and stability, 3-4 years bottle ripening is no problem even for this wine. Its freshness and crystal clear nature make it a first class pairing with seafood and fish dishes.
