This beautiful Pinot Noir, which combines smoothness with structure and depth, comes from one of the best terroirs in Mercurey with vines that are on average 40 years old. The wine is harvested in two passes to obtain optimally ripened grapes. Mercurey Perrieres from Domaine Belleville has a rather darker color for a burgundy. The scent is intense, fruity and deep, the aromas are reminiscent of blackberries and raspberries, plus a spicy note from the wooden barrel. The tannins are soft and hidden in the juicy fruit and the high extract. The wine has a great length and a lot of substance. It can be drunk young, but of course it also ages very well in the bottle. You really have to look at the label to believe that this is a Southern Burgundy wine. Great class, as always from this winery.
Despite the warm year, the 2020 Burgundies are of impressive clarity and great elegance. A high-quality vintage with a more classic style that will give great pleasure for many years.
