The Vouvray sec from Domaine d’Orfeuilles is not matured in wooden barrels, unlike the Vouvray Silex, so it is a fruitier variant of the Chenin Blanc grape variety. This wine is also fermented without the addition of yeast (spontaneous fermentation). Its noticeable structure and long shelf life also come from months of yeast storage. Since 2021 it has a new designed label.
The d'Orfeuille Vouvray sec has the typical aromas of a Loire Chenin Blanc such as pear, ginger, quince and cardamom. On the palate it is full-bodied, but well balanced, with very good length and a nice grip in the finish. According to the winery, this wine can be stored for up to 15 years.
