Pecorino is not only an Italian cheese, but also a white grape of central Italy, which stands out for its intense fruitiness and fine acidity. In the process of returning to traditional grapevines, it is gaining in importance again, having been considered difficult by many winemakers due to their fluctuating yields. The vineyards planted with Pecorino in Italy increased almost tenfold between 2000 and 2010. In many wineries of Abruzzo, it is the top white wine, the Trebbiano often provides the basic wines.
Farnese produces its Vanita Pecorino in Terre di Chieti in the Abruzzo, the maturing takes place mainly in steel tanks, 20% are stored in large wooden barrels. The result is a gentle white wine with a fruity note, pear and lemon are noticeable, the body is of medium weight, the final is balanced and soft. A very convincing white wine for little money.
A typical Farnese wine in its artisanally perfect way.
