Origine is what the Roblin family calls their classic Sancerre, which grows on clay and limestone soils that give the wine that classic elegance that one expects from an aromatically cool Loire Sauvignon expected. It is fermented in stainless steel, followed by 5-6 months of aging on the yeast, which gives the wine stability and depth. A very fine and mineral Sancerre like out of a picture book.
Decanter magazine writes about the 2020 vintage (2022 not yet tasted): "Appealing white peaches, green apple and pineapple on the nose, which translates seamlessly onto the palate. The sweet ripe fruit is tinged with a dry, chalky texture and a bitter gooseberry finish. Member exclusive. 90/100.
This Sauvignon Blanc white wine is an ideal accompaniment for summer cuisine, seafood and fish, as well as the typical goat's cheese of the Loire, the Crottin de Chavignol.
