The Picpoul de Pinet is a white wine classic from the French Mediterranean coast. It grows not far from the Etang de Thau, a stronghold of oyster and mussel farming. The Picpoul grape retains a certain freshness even in warm growing areas, therefore it is popular as an ideal companion to fish, seafood and Mediterranean vegetable cuisine. The Picpoul de Pinet is bottled in an idiosyncratic flail bottle called Neptune, which is supposed to encourage people to serve the wine with seafood. The elephants on the Domaine Delsol label are a reminder that Hannibal is said to have come through here on his way to Rome.
This wine has a beautiful color with golden and green nuances. Delicious fruit notes on the nose, reminiscent of citrus fruits, the taste is fresh, lively, but with a round aftertaste. Very nice!
