Demoiselle de Sociando Mallet is the second wine of the estate of Jean Gautreau. For this purpose the young vines of the estate and the plots of Merlot are used, which would have been too much for the Grand Vin. In this second wine with softer stylistics, the grape varieties ares 50/50, while the Grand Vin has a higher Cabernet portion and has to mature accordingly. Demoiselle is a species of dragonfly which is found in the Médoc and is also depicted on the label.
The Demoiselles from the very good vintage 2019 shows a great abundance and soft structure, but it is not lacking in depth. Despite its youth, it can be drunk already with pleasure, if you like the charming and intense Merlot fruit with a nice hint of oak.
