The unfortunately extremely small amount of 2020 wines from Fontaine-Gagnard will be delivered from mid-June 2022. It's best to order immediately.
Fontaine-Gagnard has an impressive portfolio of prime locations on the Côte de Beaune. Here the full concentration is on white wines, the character of the individual sites is worked out with great sensitivity and skill.
The 1er Cru La Boudriotte is located in the southern part of the municipality of Chassagne-Montrachet and is a relatively steep site that is said to have a classy elegance. The elegant 2020 vintage has resulted in a highly refined wine that promises many years of great enjoyment. As already mentioned, unfortunately only in very small quantities.
The Chardonnay vines from Fontaine-Gagnard were planted here between 1945 and 1987, so they are very old, which gives the wine an intriguing density and complexity. Like all Fontaine-Gagnard wines, this one was only fermented with natural yeasts. This was followed by storage in barriques, a third of which were new. A dream of a white burgundy.
