Pio Cesare's Barbera d'Alba comes from family-owned vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba and Monforte d'Alba in the Barolo region, from Treiso in the Barbaresco region and from the Langhe. It is matured for 12 months in large wooden vats made of French oak, and a small proportion of barriques is also used. Nevertheless, its character remains clearly classic, the powerful structure, with a full body, complexity, ripe fruit, spice, plus a very long lifespan. Pio Cesare doesn't make a barbera that needs to be drunk young.
