A classic among the Burgundians from Volnay. Joseph Voillot makes traditional, artisanal Burgundies of the highest quality that are at the top of the community. They are deep and long-lasting, even taking a few years in the bottle to fully bloom.
iIn the top location of Fremieta, the Domaine Voillot has very old vines, which come from the planting years 1932, 1950 and 1978. This potential translates into this immensely complex Burgundy, which is of course particularly brilliant in the top 2020 vintage. This Volnay combines the proverbial delicacy of this AOC with a fascinating arc of tension, power, aroma and silkiness. Adorable!
Unfortunately, there are hardly any ratings for the current Voillot vintages. Those who are always sold out also submit little for the tasting. The certainly weaker 2017 vintage of the Volnay 1er Cru Fremiets was rated 93/100 points by Decanter magazine.
