The historic Klein Constantia winery was founded in 1685. At the time, the Dutchman Simon van der Steel was specifically looking for the best region for viticulture in South Africa, thus laying the foundation for today's cult wine, Vin de Constance.
This Muscat in the idiosyncratic bottle is probably the wine icon of South Africa. Even today it is based on the traditional version of this wine with its unusual preparation and aging techniques. The harvest usually lasts for two whole months, during this time wines of different degrees of maturity and styles are produced and matured in different barrels, which are then finally combined into the Vin de Constance.
A cult sweet wine with a truly unique character.
