The Cotes de Tablas comes only from Tablas Creek's own vineyards. Here the Grenache dominates in the cuvée, along with Syrah, Counoise and Mourvedre. It thus tends towards the southern Rhône in terms of taste, the full body with the soft tannins is complemented by the spiciness and minerality of the Syrah, the appealing wildness of the Counoise and the structure and power of the Mourvèdre.
The 2018 Côtes de Tablas rouge is characterized by a scent with notes of red and dark berries, black pepper, cocoa and figs. The taste is balanced at a high level, the smoothness of the Grenache combines perfectly with the spiciness and structure of the Syrah. A serious, powerful Cotes de Tablas that already tastes great, but can still mature in the bottle for a few more years.
