2018 is again an outstanding vintage in the Beaujolais, stylistically a mix of the opulent 2015 and the classic and elegant 2017. The Régnié Grain & Granit by Charly Thevenet has body, soft tannins and a tremendously delicate fruit. It has a perfect balance through the lively style with fruit, acid and structure, just this unique bite of the Gamay variety, without the need for much tannin. It’s a pleasure for early consumption and will also mature gracefully in the bottle.
Charly Thevenet's Grain & Granite grows in a three-hectare parcel, whose vines were planted in the years 1932 and 1964 and are biodynamically cultivated. The wine is aged in used burgundy barrels, sulfur is only added to a minimum level. Charly Thevenet always harvests late and selects rigorously, only the very best grapes are used for his Régnié. The wine is neither refined nor filtered.
