Thierry Mortet's Gevrey-Chambertin Village grows on a 3.1 hectare plot, some of which are planted with vines that are up to 60 years old. It is the estate's most important wine and accounts for around half of Mortet's red wine production. Everything here is traditional handcrafted with great care. Thierry Mortet's Gevrey-Chambertin is aged in 30% new barriques and the wine is only lightly filtered before bottling.

The Thierry Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin from the rather cooler 2021 vintage shows fresh notes of red berries and cherries in the bouquet. This is accompanied by a delicately spicy woody note. On the palate it is just as fresh, precise and straightforward, it has the beautiful clarity that characterizes many Burgundies of this vintage. The ripe tannins are present and give the whole thing stability in the very long finish. A classic that will provide many years of great drinking pleasure and reward those who are patient.
