This Chardonnay from Altenburger is an independent wine that perfectly represents the character of the Jungenberg site and its production method. Exotic fruit notes, peach and a fine herbal note can be found in the broad spectrum of aromas. On the palate it is very tightly woven, with power, fullness and plenty of extract, the fine acidity gives it support and an elegant long finish. That's class! Total production (2015 vintage): 1700 0.75 L bottles and a few magnums.
The magazine Falstaff gave the Chardonnay Jungenberg 2021 an incredible 94/100 points. Quote: "Medium golden yellow, silver reflections. Fine meadow herbs, delicate yellow tropical fruit, a hint of mango, underlined with lime zest, white flowers, complex aromas. Firm, white apple, freshly structured, fine extract sweetness, appears light-footed and precise, mineral-salty aftertaste, already drinkable, a fine food accompaniment, has development potential." Unfortunately, 2022 has not yet been described.
