How the 2018 Cabernet Franc la Sylphe hides its supposed 14.5% with ease in the extract, that really leaves me speechless, and all that for the around € 16 / bottle. The secret behind this is probably the extreme low yields of only around 22 hl / ha, which makes the wine extremely dense and rich in extracts. Incidentally, the wine is aged in old wooden barrels that give practically no aroma.
The 2018 la Sylphe is characterized by high grape ripeness, but has no raisin aroma. Very powerful tannin structure, elderberries, blackberries, a hint of liquorice in the background. No alcoholic mouthfeel at 14.5%, long, dynamic, punchy, wild, captivating. Wine that touches emotionally!
